A man calling the police and claiming he was being hounded by the Ghost of Christmas Past was just one of a number of people that phoned in with paranormal emergencies over the holidays.
The spooked castle owner told Devon and Cornwall Police the famous ghoul from Charles Dickens’s novel A Christmas Carol had forced him to lock his gates.
Another terrified resident from Redruth reported seeing a couple of zombies that later turned out to be two friends that were ‘drunk’, according to thisiscornwall.co.uk.
If that wasn’t enough, officers also looked into claims horse hair was being plaited by a witch and another Devon local swore she had found a broomstick belonging to a sorceress.
A spokesman for the force said: ‘Police would not attend an incident for the report of paranormal activity.
‘An officer will however attend if there is concern for the welfare for either the caller or another individual or where there is reason to believe an offence may have occurred.’
